Tektronix and EA Elektro-Automatik combine their expertise in test & measurement and energy technologies to introduce a revolutionary new product—the EA-BIM 20005 Multi-Channel Battery Impedance Analyzer. Featuring 20-channel parallel EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) measurement, industry-leading test throughput, and seamless integration capabilities, it redefines efficiency standards for battery validation.
Traditional Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) testing requires sequential frequency scanning, with full-frequency-range measurement of a single battery cell taking up to 300 seconds. This has become a major bottleneck for high-volume production-line quality inspection and R&D iteration. The EA-BIM 20005 uses innovative multi-sine excitation technology to simultaneously measure 32 frequency points, reducing a single EIS measurement to as little as 1 second—a several-hundred-fold increase in speed. Combined with high-speed 20-channel multiplexing, it can perform tens of thousands of cell tests per day, providing a disruptive solution for high-throughput applications such as power-battery capacity grading and sorting, as well as aging monitoring of energy-storage cells.
