China's electric vehicle market is currently undergoing rapid development. Driven by the continued implementation of favorable policies such as vehicle trade-in programs and the promotion of new energy vehicles in rural areas, along with technological advances and growing environmental awareness among consumers, the production and sales of electric vehicles are expected to continue increasing. With the advancement of China's “dual carbon” goals, China has become the world's largest electric vehicle market, and the penetration rate of new energy vehicles continues to rise.
As the market expands and electric vehicle performance improves, high-voltage systems and high-capacity batteries are becoming increasingly complex, while consumers are placing ever-higher demands on EV safety. The safety and reliability of electric vehicles have therefore become key concerns. Ensuring electrical safety at every stage is critical to overall vehicle performance, passenger safety, and environmental protection.
Electric vehicles consist of multiple key components, including motors, batteries, and DC/DC converters. Countries around the world have established stringent safety testing regulations and standards for these components, such as UL 2580 (Batteries for Use in Electric Vehicles), GB/T 18488 (Drive Motor System for Electric Vehicles), and GB/T 24347 (DC/DC Converter for Electric Vehicles). Electrical safety testing of these components shares many common requirements, among which hipot testing is particularly critical. A hipot tester with an output power of up to 500 VA is typically required to meet the testing needs of large motors, batteries, and other components.
