The ASPS Series is a new-generation high-end spacecraft solar array simulator under AMETEK Elgar’s NEXSIM space power simulation platform, developed for ground verification of power systems for medium & large satellites, manned spacecraft and deep space probes. Adopting compact 1U rack form factor, each unit supports either two independent isolated 600W channels or one single 1200W high-power channel. It features industry-leading 2μs shunt switching recovery time, fully compatible with satellite PWM shunt PCDUs, S3R/S4R sequential shunt regulators and high-speed MPPT controllers. Equipped with high-speed full-digital DSP control, the unit can store up to 32 custom I-V curves and 32 orbital eclipse timing segments to accurately replicate on-orbit dynamic conditions including LEO/GEO irradiance, solar eclipse and alternating temperature cycles, and supports accelerated orbit simulation at multiple speed ratios. It integrates primary & secondary dual overvoltage/overcurrent protection, ultra-fast 10μs electronic circuit breaker and built-in fault data recorder. Standard configurations include active PFC and LAN Ethernet port, matched with dedicated AMETEK SAS GUI software and standard SCPI remote control commands. Widely used in R&D, reliability aging and full-condition ground simulation testing of onboard power controllers, battery packs, PCDUs and attitude control power subsystems. Compared with traditional high-power solar simulators, ASPS delivers higher power density, faster response and superior multi-channel synchronous control precision, drastically cutting ground verification cycles for aerospace power systems.
