The KIKUSUI TOS7210S (SPEC80776) PID insulation tester is built on the TOS7200 platform, specially developed for PID (Potential Induced Degradation) evaluation of photovoltaic modules. It simulates high-voltage, high-temperature and high-humidity outdoor operating conditions to measure leakage-induced power degradation of solar cells, encapsulation films and module frames. It also serves as a high-sensitivity instrument for micro-leakage testing of insulating materials and electronic components.

PID is an irreversible power loss phenomenon of PV modules caused by long-term positive/negative high bias voltage. This unit supports instant polarity switching to simulate both degradation and recovery conditions, widely adopted by PV R&D labs, module manufacturers and certification bodies.
