The EEC SCI 290 series is a compact lightweight hipot tester featuring single-knob intuitive operation and portable design for cost-effective dielectric strength & insulation testing of small home appliances, adapters, wiring harnesses, PCBs, lighting and compact industrial controllers, fully compliant with IEC60335, IEC60950, GB4706, UL, CE, TUV and RoHS standards.

The main body is smaller than an A4 sheet with only 5.46kg weight, flexible for bench production lines, laboratory aging and on-site field inspection. Equipped with complete high-voltage safety mechanisms: ARC flashover detection, open-circuit contact check, forced post-test discharge and redundant hardware safety interlock. Ramp/dwell/fall time adjustable from 0.1s to 999.9s, with 5 built-in memory slots (expandable to 10) for automatic cycle testing.

Standard rear Remote I/O terminal block supports external start/stop control; optional USB remote communication with SCPI commands enables integration with PLC and host PC for semi-automatic test stations. The 298 high-power 500VA variant supports full-load hot dielectric testing for motors and high-power power supplies.
