Rohde & Schwarz, hereinafter referred to as “R&S”, has provided BTL Laboratory with a complete R&S TS8991 OTA test system that fully complies with CTIA certification standards. In addition, R&S experts provided full on-site support during the certification audit process. Through this cooperation, BTL is able to provide customers with comprehensive wireless device testing services that meet CTIA OTA certification requirements based on the R&S system.

BTL selected R&S to install a turnkey OTA test solution compliant with CTIA standards for its laboratory in Taiwan. R&S provided one-stop deployment for the project, covering the R&S TS8991 OTA test system, supporting measurement software, and ready-to-use third-party test chamber and turntable. To ensure measurement professionalism and accuracy, R&S experts also provided on-site guidance and support throughout two key audits conducted by the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) and CTIA.

R&S worked closely with BTL to ensure that the test chamber and its infrastructure could create an interference-free testing environment, which is essential for ensuring the reliability of measurement results. Compared with solutions that rely on multiple suppliers, this single-source cooperation model significantly simplified BTL’s procurement and deployment processes.

As a laboratory using the R&S TS8991 and certified by CTIA, BTL can provide OTA measurement services for wireless devices supporting 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies, especially various types of notebook computers. The ready-to-use test system is equipped with measurement software that supports future upgrades, ensuring compatibility with emerging wireless standards such as A-GNSS. At the same time, leveraging its deep expertise in antenna measurement, R&S also helps BTL expand its laboratory capabilities into more specialized testing fields, such as satellite payload antenna evaluation.

Meanwhile, R&S has well-established EMC/OTA pre-sales technical and after-sales service teams in Southeast Asian countries and regions, supporting Chinese customers in establishing CTIA-certified laboratories in Southeast Asia.
