The R&S ZNB3000 vector network analyzer combines accuracy and speed on a scalable platform, helping engineers and researchers accelerate innovation in high-performance RF applications and signal integrity testing. By extending the maximum frequency to 32 GHz, 43.5 GHz, and 54 GHz, the instrument covers a broader range of applications, from RF component testing for 5G, 6G, and Wi-Fi, to high-speed interconnect testing in AI data centers, as well as next-generation RF component testing for Ka-band and V-band satellite communications.
AI applications in data centers require ultra-high-speed, high-bandwidth interconnect technologies to handle massive data loads. Test solutions for technologies such as high-speed Ethernet (IEEE 802.3ck) need to support frequencies up to 50 GHz to ensure optimal signal integrity. The PCIe 7.0 (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) standard currently under development will double data rates to 128.0 GT/s, likewise requiring testing at higher frequencies.
With frequency coverage up to 54 GHz, the R&S ZNB3000 is specifically designed to meet these requirements and accurately characterize high-speed PCBs, cables, and connectors in AI data center infrastructure. At European Microwave Week 2025, Rohde & Schwarz publicly demonstrated the new 54 GHz frequency range of the R&S ZNB3000 for the first time. Using a PCIe cable as the device under test, the demonstration vividly showed how to ensure the reliability of high-speed interconnects required for AI-driven workloads.
The R&S ZNB3000 series features an ultra-high dynamic range of 150 dB, high output power, and ultra-low trace noise of less than 0.0015 dB RMS, delivering outstanding RF performance. The new high-frequency models also support RF component testing for Ka-band and V-band satellite communication applications, including high-frequency devices such as filters, mixers, amplifiers, switches, and beamformers, while also meeting RF component testing requirements for 5G, 6G, and Wi-Fi applications. This makes the R&S ZNB3000 an ideal choice for next-generation technology R&D laboratories and production environments.
