As the “energy heart” of electronic devices, the safety of a power adapter is directly related to users’ personal and property safety as well as the stable operation of equipment. To ensure that power adapters do not pose hazards to users or equipment during operation, electrical safety testing has become an indispensable step before shipment.
Currently, the internationally recognized safety standards for power adapters mainly include IEC 60950-1 and IEC 62368-1. In China, the corresponding national standard is GB 4943.1-2022 Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment — Part 1: Safety Requirements (replacing GB 8898-2011 and GB 4943.1-2011). These standards impose strict requirements on insulation, dielectric withstand voltage, grounding, temperature rise, abnormal operation, and other aspects of power adapters, ensuring compliance with safety requirements throughout product design, manufacturing, and use.
