Rohde & Schwarz (hereinafter “R&S”) and Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) have collaborated to develop a series of tests for Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) devices. ADI’s GMSL technology provides cost-effective, scalable, and simple SerDes solutions aimed at improving the performance of high-speed video links, primarily used in in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems and automotive advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Through this partnership, engineers, developers, and manufacturers can rapidly create and deploy GMSL-based ADAS and IVI systems.

R&S is now able to perform Physical Medium Attachment (PMA) tests according to GMSL requirements. This solution is fully integrated into the R&S RTP oscilloscope firmware and offers an extensive signal integrity toolkit, including LiveEye for real‑time monitoring of signal behavior, as well as advanced jitter and noise analysis. In addition, the solution includes built‑in eye diagram masks for both forward and reverse channels.
